At first blush, a co-branded campaign between a blockbuster movie and a computer manufacturer in seven countries is a stretch. But with Acer and Paramount Pictures’ Star Trek Into Darkness, futuristic styling and cutting-edge technology made a product-movie launch for the ages. This campaign included hundreds of assets, both print and digital.
Below are the results from the initial launch, including a double-page spread print ad, retail end cap, gondola, window display in New York City, the digital billboard in Toronto, e-commerce pages, and web banners.
Note: For Acer to receive advertising dollars from Microsoft, all deliverables had to be Microsoft Jumpstart program-compliant. Jumpstart required that all materials included explicitly sized element tags, logos, and taglines, where needed. In addition, Paramount Pictures’ legal team also had to approve all materials.
