Starbucks has sponsored Hot Java Cool Jazz for 28 years to support the jazz programs at five local high schools. 100% of the ticket sales will be split between them.
Garfield High School and Roosevelt High School have sent their jazz bands to New York City to compete in the annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival, each of which has won multiple times.
This year, all the bands performing at Hot Java Cool Jazz, save one, will be in. New York City, competing at Essentially Ellington from May 7 to 11.
